A wonderful evening of music in Portstewart Presbyterian Church Hall has helped to raise valuable funds for local charity Action Cancer.
The Lindsay Chorale, established in 1996 in Saintfield, County Down, visited the town in May for their end-of-season concert, performing at the church hall on Saturday 23rd May at 7:30pm. The group also contributed to the church service the following day on Sunday 24th May.
The special event was held in aid of Action Cancer. The Chorale, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, is well-known for its rich and varied repertoire, ranging from classical and sacred music to contemporary pieces, songs from musicals and popular favourites. Over the years they have performed at some of Northern Ireland’s most prestigious venues, including the Waterfront Hall, Ulster Hall, Grand Opera House and Stormont, and have also appeared on BBC Television.
Thanks to the generous support of the local community and everyone who attended, a significant sum was raised to support the vital work of Action Cancer.
A cheque presentation was recently held to mark the occasion, with Lucy McCusker, Senior Fundraising Manager at Action Cancer, accepting the donation on behalf of the charity.
The event committee would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Lindsay Chorale for their beautiful performance and to everyone who donated and helped make the evening such a success, and to Lucy and the whole team at Action Cancer for the important work they do supporting people across Northern Ireland
