We will take the next 40 days to discover the promises of the gospel given through the some of the Old Testament prophets. Take time to pray before you read, why not get a notebook and journal your thoughts and what God might be saying to you. Ask what changes the passage demands of us in terms of our relationship with God and one another. Here are some key questions you might want to answer in your journal.
- What does this passage teach me about God’s character and nature
- What does this passage teach me about humanity and myself
- What is God revealing about his presence and work in my life right now

Let’s Pray
Stuart and Richard continue to take time each week to walk and pray among the housing and key areas of our town. Thank God for the way in which he has been answering prayer and continue to pray for people Stuart and Richard meet each week. This week they met a man who has been suffering with a sore back and a mother striving to her best for her family. Pray that God would continue to work in both lives.
As we draw closer to Christmas and think about the birth of Jesus, pray that each of us would see past the familiarity of the story and instead understand what it means for Jesus, for God, to have come and dwelt among us.
Pray for the Campbell family as they continue to mourn William, pray also for the many other families who have been bereaved this year, especially as we come to the first Christmas without loved ones.
