This year, Rebecca and Sam decided on a new approach for our annual camp instead of travelling away, we would stay in our own halls and transform them into the perfect base for a weekend of fun, fellowship, and unforgettable memories. And what a weekend it turned out to be!
The girls kicked things off by making their own sandwiches for lunch, followed (of course!) by the all-important trip to Tesco to stock up on snacks. With supplies secured, the excitement for the weekend truly began.
Back at the hall, the girls split into two groups: one headed for an energetic aerial hoop session and Zumba. In the meantime, while the second group waited for their turn, they got creative, crafting beautiful handmade bracelets a lovely keepsake from the weekend.
Once everyone was back together again, the fun moved outdoors as we split into teams for a lively photo competition around Portstewart. Laughter, teamwork, and a bit of friendly competition filled the afternoon, before we headed off to Bounce for even more high-energy activity.
After all that excitement, appetites were well and truly earned. Dinner was a comforting feast of sausages, chicken nuggets, mash, and beans. The girls then rolled up their sleeves to wash and dry their own dishes teamwork in action before changing into their old clothes for yet another round of fun: a colour run and water fight that left everyone soaked, smiling, and covered in bright colours.
But the day didn’t end there. Once everyone was showered and cosy in their comfiest clothes, we gathered outside to toast marshmallows by the fire. It was the perfect moment of calm and warmth to end a packed Saturday, before heading to bed to rest up for the day ahead.
Sunday morning began bright and early with a hearty breakfast of sausages, eggs, and toast exactly what was needed after such an action-filled day. With bellies full, we made our way down for an exciting and uplifting morning in church, bringing the weekend to a meaningful close.
Camp Weekend 2026 was truly one to remember full of fun, laughter, growth, and memories that will stay with us for years to come. Staying in our own halls didn’t limit the adventure… it made it even more special.
